Boil Water Notice issued in Oak Run community

Marion County Utilities is issuing a precautionary boil water notice for all 3,400 customers in the Oak Run community.

Officials say a water main break occurred overnight, after the line was damaged by a lightning strike.

Crews have isolated the main, and have been working on repairs through the night. They expect it to be repaired completely by the end of Friday.

Utilities advises that all water used for brushing teeth, cooking, drinking, making ice or washing dishes be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use. As an alternative, residents may opt to use bottled water.

The areas involved are shown in the maps above. The notice is in effect until otherwise stated.
