Body of man charged with child porn possession found in Gulf of Mexico

HUDSON, Fla. (AP) -- Sheriff's deputies say the body a man who was recently arrested on child porn charges was found floating in the Gulf of Mexico.

A boater called the U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday after spotting the body about three miles off of Hudson.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said the man was identified as 64-year-old John Curtis Sr. of Port Richey.

Investigators learned that Curtis left Hudson Marina on a boat belonging to his friend around 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The boat was found in the Gulf.

Sheriff's officials say foul play is not suspected, but investigators are waiting on a cause of death from the medical examiner.

Curtis was arrested Oct. 8 for possession of child pornography.
