Bicyclist fatally struck by vehicle overnight in New Smyrna Beach

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (FOX 35 WOLF) - A bicyclist was hit and killed in New Smyrna Beach overnight. 

Fox 35 reporter Matt Trezza was on scene this Sunday morning and spoke to police, who said that the cyclist was hit shortly after 4 a.m. They also say that this was not a hit and run, as everyone involved stayed on scene and cooperated with police. 

Police still need to notify the victim's next of kin before revealing the cyclist's identity. This is an ongoing investigation.
