Beer theft at Orlando Wawa ends with car in tree, 3 arrested

- Three people were arrested Tuesday morning after police say they stole beer from an area gas station.

It happened just before 6 a.m. at the Wawa located at 1201 South Semoran Boulevard.

According to authorities, an Orlando police officer was pulling into the gas station as the suspects were leaving.

That's when an employee flagged the officer and told them of the theft.

As the officer tried to stop the vehicle, the driver missed a turn and crashed into a tree at the intersection of Danube Way and S. Semoran Blvd.

Three individuals were taken into custody and 2 people were hurt, police said.

The crash blocked two lanes of Semoran Boulevard for about 30 minutes.
