ORANGE COUNTY, Fla (WOFL FOX 35) - Bears could force Orange County leaders to adjust the way trash is collected in some Apopka neighborhoods.
The Orlando Sentinel reports the animals have been spotted in neighborhoods near Wekiva Springs. County leaders are now considering switching to bear resistant cans, similar to the decision made by Seminole County.
Orange County may also switch pickups from early in the morning to mid-day. This way people don't have to leave them out at night when bears are most active.
