DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Daytona Beach Fire Rescue flying double-red flags Saturday due to rough surf and massive on-shore debris.
Beachgoers will not be allowed to park on the sand or swim in the water. Mangrove vines and root systems, along with lumber, pallets and driftwood have washed ashore.
Beach officials say if you're planning to walk on the beach, be careful where you step and be sure not to leave any litter behind. Officials say high tide will sweep any litter left on the beach, into the water. The earliest the beach will reopen is Sunday.
