Arrest made in March DUI that left 2 dead

Robert Boos, 68, gets choked up talking about the death of his wife of 45 years, Kathleen Boos.

“It was devastating to me, obviously.  I was with her for 45 years, and I all I can say is I'm thankful for those 45 years."

His 66-year-old wife and his 67-year-old brother, Carl Boos, were both killed in a head-on crash back in March, on State Road A1A in Flagler County.

"They told me they were on their way at 6:30 p.m.  I was getting panicky. unfortunately. and I called my son and he went out right away. and he found them five miles from here," said Boos. "I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy to anybody."

Nearly eight months later troopers have arrested the other driver 52-year-old William Schwarz, accused of driving drunk. He's charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter and two counts of vehicular homicide.

"It's one step in the right direction," Boos said.

Meanwhile, Boos has established the Kathleen Boos Foundation in honor of his wife, to educate others about the dangers of drunk driving.

"To try to make something positive out of my wife and brother being killed," said Boos.

Schwarz is being held at the Flagler County jail on $400,000 bond.
