LONGWOOD, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Police in Longwood have made an arrest regarding a fatal shooting from July.
The Longwood Police Department reports that on July 14th, officers responded to a shooting in the area of SR 434 and Powell Street, which later resulted in the death of Richard Javier. During the investigation, the department says that they learned that shooting occurred during an illicit drug transaction.
Through more investigative methods, detectives say they developed probable cause to charge Anthony Gilbery Gonzalez with 2nd Degree Murder in the shooting death of Richard Javier and additional drug related charges.
Gonzalez reportedly was booked into the Seminole County Correctional Facility. This is still an active investigation.
