CASSELBERRY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - An accused Casselberry killer will stay in jail, for now. A judge denied John Murray bond, after police say he killed his girlfriend.
“You are charged with first degree, premeditated murder,” the judge said, “I do find probable cause for that. Of course, based on the nature of these charges you're to be held without bond."
Casselberry Police say it started at an apartment complex on Semoran Boulevard, where they say Murray got into a fight with his live-in girlfriend. Police say the argument happened inside the apartment and while they fought, they say Murray smashed a mirror and cut his hand. Then they say the fight went outside. That's when they say he took a gun and shot his girlfriend several times, killing her.
Ted Vader lives nearby and says he heard the shots and saw the grisly aftermath of the shooting. “She was laying halfway on the curb,” he said, “and they came running up with their guns and the other guy kneeled down and put his hands up.”
Vader says he fears for the children living at the apartment complex. “I'm freaking out. I've got my kids inside, there's kids running around here. What kind of place did I move into?”
Police haven't released the woman's name, because they still need to break the news to her family.
