ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Accused cop killer Markeith Loyd was in court on Tuesday, as he asked for a new lead counsel on his case.
The judge is allowing him to have a new lead attorney. The judge signed off on a death penalty-qualified attorney from Miami. This will push back the trial for the murder of Sade Dixon to at least January. There is no word yet on when Loyd will be tried for the murder of Orlando Police Lieutenant Debra Clayton.
Loyd is accused of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend, Sade Dixon, in 2016. He later killed Orlando Police Lieutenant Debra Clayton.
