ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a 16-year-old boy that happened on Florida's Turnpike, around mile marker 264, before 7 a.m. on Sunday.
Troopers have identified the teenager as Sanjay Nandram, of Apopka. They said, minutes earlier, he was involved in a crash and was out of his car on the shoulder of the road, when when he was struck by another driver.
Troopers said the woman who hit him said she fell asleep behind the wheel. Charges were pending.
