Teen arrested for carjacking after robbing woman at animal clinic

- Kissimmee police state that they  have charged a 16-year-old male with several charges including carjacking.

On July 7, a 70-year-old victim was loading her dog into her vehicle at Osceola Animal Clinic located in Kissimmee when a young black male reportedly demanded her car keys. The victim refused and the male grabbed the victim and forcibly took her keys. The victim asked if she could get her dog out of the car and the male refused and fled the scene.

Police say they found the victim’s stolen car parked a few blocks away an hour later. The car was off, the doors were locked, and windows rolled up with the dog still inside the car.  Officers had to break the car window to rescue the dog.  The dog was taken back to the Animal Hospital for evaluation from heat exposure.  The dog was later released to the owner.

Video surveillance from the warehouses captured a young black male, matching the clothing description provided by the victim and witness, walking away from the area the stolen car was parked.

On July 8, a woman left her car running at the Walmart on E. Osceola Parkway while she loaded groceries into the trunk.  She saw a young black male get into her car and drive away.

Then on July 11, deputies say they finally found the vehicle that was stolen from the Wal-Mart.  Four black males fled from the vehicle and were apprehended. 16-year-old Jaquari Walker had the stolen car’s keys. A search of the vehicle revealed possible stolen property, realistic looking bb guns, and burglary tools.  Walker was arrested for the grand theft auto as well as two outstanding warrants and was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.

Detectives say they questioned Walker at the detention center.  Walker cooperated with detectives and provided information in the Animal Clinic and auto theft from Wal-Mart cases.  Kissimmee police obtained a juvenile custody order for Walker’s role in the carjacking.  Walker is charged with battery on a person over 65, carjacking, aggravated animal abuse, and petit theft.  Walker is still taken to the Orange County jail for the previous charges and will now be booked on the additional charges.
