19-year-old dies in crash overnight

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office say they were called to the scene of a single-vehicle rollover crash in DeBary early Sunday morning.

The only passenger of the vehicle, identified as Tori Lynn Otway, was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene by Orange City Fire Rescue.

Police say Otway lived in Deltona, but recently had been staying with a friend in DeBary. She had been friends until she left at 1:10 a.m. On the way home, while on South Shell Road, her vehicle left the roadway, struck a curb, and re-entered the roadway. The vehicle crossed the road and flipped onto its side, then rolled onto its roof in a parking area.

The vehicle was reportedly landed on its passenger side, ejecting the young woman. She was not wearing a seat belt.

South Shell Road was closed for about nine hours during the investigation.
