1 arrested in Happy Place Sports Bar shooting

Authorities have arrested a man in a shooting incident at an Orlando-area sports that left one dead and four injured.

Bryan O’Neil Diodonet Cortes, 20, is charged with one count of second-degree murder and four counts of attempted murder. 

The shootings happened in the parking lot of Happy Place Sports Bar in the early morning hours of July 9.  Deputies arrived to find men people shot.  One of the men, 20-year-old Edgar Rivera, was deceased.  The other injured victim, a security guard, was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center in stable condition.  Investigators later discovered three more people had been injured in the shootings. 

Cortes is being held in the Orange County Jail. Detectives believe that there are still other suspects outstanding. The investigation is active and ongoing.
