Lake Nona VA hospital dedication ceremony on May 26

The Orlando VA Medical Center will dedicate its new Lake Nona-based Medical Center on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 10 a.m. The ceremony will take place in front of the new medical center located at 13800 Veterans Way, Orlando, FL 32827. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert A. McDonald will provide the keynote address.

"This State of the Art Medical Campus will serve as a place of healing for those who have served." said Orlando VA Medical Center Director Timothy W. Liezert. "With the opening of this innovative medical center, we are fundamentally changing the way we provide healthcare by offering new technologies and services that focus on the needs of our Veterans."

"This new facility enables us to provide care for our Veterans in an environment that expresses the appreciation of a grateful nation and honors those who sacrificed for us," he said.

The new medical center includes 134 inpatient beds in addition to a 120-bed Community Living Center, and 60-bed Residential Rehabilitation Program Domiciliary. The hospital will provide acute care, complex specialty care, advanced diagnostic services, a large multi-specialty outpatient clinic, administrative and support services.

The event is open to the public. Refreshments and tours of the new medical center will follow the dedication ceremony.
