SANFORD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35)
Sara Hall's security camera caught a Grinch nabbing her Christmas lawn ornaments in Sanford.
“He just came up, picked up the reindeer and took off with it,” she says, “didn't even unplug it or anything.”
Their inflatable Santa and snowman were gone, too. Her son Cody couldn't believe it. “It hurt my heart,” he says, “I almost couldn't breathe!”
Down the street, Brandyn Kregel's beloved inflatable Christmas dinosaur also disappeared, Sunday night.
And her young son is also distraught. “He's devastated over the fact that the dinosaur is missing!”
They've gotten police on the robbers' trail. “We're trying to locate the dinosaur where it's at and try to bust these people that have it,” she says.
Another Grinch struck down in Osceola County. This past Friday Brandy Seyferth's laser lights were swiped while her family was at dinner. She says it stole her daughter's Christmas joy.
“Our daughter is young” Seyferth says, “she really liked the lights, she liked to see them from her window, like Santa and the bear, it's just the overall feeling of bah-humbug of people taking the Christmas spirit away.”
A local landscaping firm got replacement ornaments for the hall's yard, but the others haven't been so lucky.
“If we do retrieve this dinosaur,” Kregel says, “it's going to definitely stay inside from now on!”
Seyferth says at least they've learned a valuable lesson. “Anything from packages to lights to ornaments, we just all need to be cognizant of each other and look out for each other.”
