Dexter Hill, 44, is charged with indecent exposure in public and tampering in a misdemeanor proceeding.
Deputies said Hill was working as a supervisor at the South County Jail on Friday when he exposed himself in front of a female employee who also worked at the jail. Deputies said Hill contacted the female during the investigation in an attempt to influence her to not incriminate him.
Hill resigned on the same day as the incident. He worked as a detention deputy at the PCSO for 19 years.
"I am outraged by this criminal conduct," Sheriff Grady Judd said. "We hold our agency members to the highest professional standards-and to even higher standards for supervisors."
Hill was booked into the Polk County Jail and later released after posting a $1,500 bond.
