Deputies: 2 injured after men fire shots at buildings, cars

Orange County deputies are looking for three men they say started firing shots after they committed a carjacking.

Deputies said they started getting 911 calls around 9 p.m., Saturday in the area of Lancaster and Winegard Roads, about shots being fired.

The shots were fired at buildings and cars in that area and as one car passed, two people were hit with bullets, deputies said.

A young teen and his grandmother were injured in the passing car.  Both were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

As deputies arrived in the area, they found a white Toyota with the men inside.  A deputy tried to stop the car, which took off, officials said.

Deputies said they gave chase and after the driver crashed at Lee Lan Dr and Lancaster Rd one of the men in the car started shooting at them as they ran away.

Officials said the car the men were in was confirmed as a carjacked vehicle from Friday night.

The men were able to get away after a large perimeter search was done by deputies.  Officials are asking anyone with information to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
