Have Floridians forgotten how dangerous alligators can be?

Alligators are almost as much a part of Florida life as sunshine. You can see them crossing Lake Jesup on State Road 417. You can also see them at theme parks like Gatorland. You can even get up close with them at some local mini-golf courses. And of course, many Central Floridians see them in their own backyards. 

The vast majority of the encounters between people and gators end in a benign way with no one hurt. So the question is, have Floridians become so used to seeing alligators that they've forgotten how dangerous they can be in the wild? 

Fox 35's Tom Johnson spent a day with a gator expert to see what he thinks.
