Troopers: Car submerged in pond, 1 dead

 The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that killed one person early Sunday morning.

Troopers said the crash happened around 5 a.m., Sunday after a car went into a retention pond.

The driver was headed east on State Road 408 at the exit ramp at Alafaya Trail, troopers said.

For unknown reasons, the driver lost control, went across all lanes of Alafaya Trail and ended up in the pond.  

The Orange County Sheriff's Office dive team responded and confirmed that one person died in the accident.
