Visit Orlando, the official tourism association in Central Florida, has launched a new global marketing campaign to inspire more travel. Officials say they will be using professionally shot photos and video meant to inspire positive feelings about Orlando and a social media strategy that urges visitors to share their experiences.
"Seeing these experiences that are being had will elicit the emotions to come back and create more memories," said Mark Jaronski, a Visit Orlando official.
Anyone enjoying a piece of Orlando is being asked to use the "#myorlandostory" on Facebook posts and on other social media platforms.
"We have some plans that we have not unveiled yet that we will announce later this summer, but we actually plan to go out around the World to search for these stories," said Jaronski.
"You can never stop promoting. You can never stop marketing, and you can never stop telling people how great a destination is like Orlando, so, to have it in your hometown, it's big," said Gary Oster, U.S. Travel Association official.
The U.S. Travel Association, that promotes travel into and within the United States, is welcoming international travel buyers to Orlando this week as part of a big convention.
"All of the future bookings that will be done from the appointments on the floor, Orlando will generate $1.7 billion dollars-worth of new business for Orlando," said Oster.
The convention promises more money and more visitors in Orlando which became the first city in the U.S. to welcome more than 60 million visitors in one year in 2014.
"They make their money elsewhere, and they spend their money here, and that allows us not only to put money back into promoting Orlando as a destination, but it also goes into a better quality of life for us," said Jaronski.
