Bar owner arrested for cutting employee during a fight

Daytona Beach police said they arrested a bar owner after he cut one of his employees with a hunting knife.

Police said 59-year-old Louis Derosa was arrested after an argument that happened in a parking lot at 500 East International Pkwy. early at 2:57 a.m. Friday.

Police said Derosa approached Sean Boettcher and David Crystal, who work for him at the Bad Boys Bar and Grille at 601 Main Street.

Derosa wanted the password to a computer, but Boettcher would not give it to him claiming that he was owed $3,500, police said.

Crystal and Boettcher told police Derosa became aggressive and pulled out a hunting knife.  Boettcher was punched, then slashed across the face.

Police said Derosa took off in his truck, leaving the men behind.  Boettcher was transported to Halifax Medical Center with a 2 inch deep cut across his face.

Police were able to find Derosa who was placed under arrest for aggravated battery and taken to the Volusia County jail where he faced a judge Saturday morning.

Derosa bonded out of jail Saturday afternoon.
