According to investigators, two men attempted to grab the girl shortly after she exited a school bus. The men were in a car, when a passenger grabbed the girl's arm as she crossed the street, but she was able to escape, authorities say. She went home to tell her parents what had happened, but by the time they returned to scene, the suspects were gone.
"As a parent, it concerns me, not only for my child but for the safety of others in this community," said the girl's father, Louis Texeira. "It could happen again, and I hope they get caught."
"She's very nervous. She's shaken up," said the teen's grandmother, Iris. "She wants police to capture who did this. You know who you are! And I hope this doesn't happen to nobody else!"
Deputies have described the suspect vehicle as a 1990s model, 4-door, dark-green Honda, with an orange scratch on the trunk and chipped paint on the roof. They are actively searching the area for the suspects in this case. Anyone with information is asked call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
