Orange County deputies said a 24-year-old man accidentally shot himself while stealing a cellphone early Sunday morning.

Deputies said they started getting 911 calls around 2:51 a.m. Sunday about a robbery, a stolen car and a shooting.

Further investigation revealed that 24-year-old Lashawn Williams robbed a man of his cell phone on 18th Street.  During the robbery, Williams accidentally shot himself while running away, deputies said.

Officials said Williams panicked about the gunshot wound and ran across Orange Blossom Trail to Cleo's Gentlemen's Club where he found a Mercedes with the door open.

Williams stole the car and drove north on Orange Blossom Trail.  He pulled over at Columbia Street and flagged down a deputy, officials said.

Deputies said Williams was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he is expected to survive.

The victims made a positive identification and Williams was charged with armed robbery and stealing a vehicle.
