Orlando City Soccer fans score game day tolls

The Central Florida Expressway Authority and Orlando City Soccer Club are teaming up to help fans get home faster when leaving Sunday night's home opener at the Citrus Bowl. Orlando City Soccer Club will pay for all tolls for drivers at the interchange between State Road 408 (Spessard Holland East-West Expressway) and Orange Blossom Trail (U.S. Highway 441) on Sunday, March 8 between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Signs will be placed advising drivers that tolls on the ramps are paid and will not be collected. The signals at the plazas will be green. For their safety, CFX urges drivers to not stop at the ramp plazas during this time. Normal collection will resume at 8 p.m.

Because "roads don't stop at county lines," the regional Central Florida Expressway Authority's jurisdiction includes Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties. CFX is responsible for the construction, maintenance and operation of a 109-mile limited-access expressway system. It may also acquire, construct and equip rapid transit, trams and fixed guideways within its rights-of-way. CFX's system includes SR 408 (Spessard Holland East-West Expressway), SR 528 (Martin Andersen Beachline Expressway), SR 417 (Central Florida GreeneWay), SR 429 (Daniel Webster Western Beltway), SR 414 (John Land Apopka Expressway) and State Road 451.
