Two injured in Daytona Beach police chase of stolen car; one suspect arrested

Two people are recovering after a stolen car police chase in Daytona Beach.

Police say the passenger of the stolen car, Trashawn McDonald, 20, was arrested and charged with resisting arrest without violence and trespass in a conveyance.

Officers say a woman called 911, saying she was following a car that was stolen from her on Friday afternoon.

Police say she was confronted by one of the suspects, who shot at her on the 500 block of Westmoreland.

She was not hurt.

Officers say the stolen vehicle crashed into an unoccupied car on South Street. Both McDonald and the driver fled. McDonald was found and arrested.

During the police chase, a car collided with a Daytona Beach police patrol car. Two people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The officer was not injured.

Police are still searching for the driver.
