Police: Women sexually battered and robbed by man they met on website

A man is being held on a $340,000 bond after police say he lured women he met on line to Eustis, where he would rob them at gunpoint then sexually assault them.  Eustis Police say 24-year-old James Ramon Rolle is the suspect in four similar incidents.

Rolle has been charged with armed robbery, sexual battery with a fire arm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and depriving the use of 911 for two attacks.

Investigators say Rolle was using the website Backpage to meet the women who he later attacked.  According to the arrest affidavit, Rolle lured two women the same house on Magnolia Avenue.  Police say on June 23, Rolle offered a woman he met on the website Backpage $180 to give him an exotic dance and a massage.  The house where he asked her to show up was an abandoned duplex according to police.  Investigators say when the victim arrived Rolle lured her to the backyard where he put a gun to her head, grabbed her purse, roughed her up then forced her to perform a few sex acts.

Investigators say they used cellphone records to find Rolle and as they asked around trying to track him down, a friend of Rolle's asked investigators if they were looking for a purse.  EPD says that's how they found the second victim.  Rolle, according to the arrest affidavit,  hid a purse in that friend's freezer, and the credit cards inside led EPD to a woman from Jacksonville who they say was afraid to call police.

Investigators say the second victim advertised herself as an escort on Backpage, decided she did not want to date Rolle.   However, police say that the second victim showed up to meet Rolle to buy marijuana.  Detectives say Rolle lured the second victim to same abandoned house on Magnolia where he robbed her and tried to sexually batter her.  However, Eustis police say the second victim was able to grab Rolle's gun and he ran off.

"Be leery of who they're speaking with, texting with, talking back and forth with especially if individuals want to meet you.  You always run the risk when you don't know who you're communicating with," Sr. Detective Jim Franquiz with the Eustis Police Deparment.
