George Zimmerman bonds out of jail

The man who was acquitted in the shooting death of a Sanford teen back in 2013 was arrested again.

George Zimmerman was arrested by Lake Mary police late Friday evening on charges of domestic violence and aggravated assault with a weapon.

According to the Seminole County Jail, Zimmerman was arrested around 10 p.m. Friday evening.

According to Zimmerman's attorney, Don West, the arrest came after a domestic incident at a Lake Mary home where Zimmerman was staying.

West said Zimmerman allegedly threw an empty wine bottle at the victim, whom West calls Zimmerman's girlfriend. The woman was not hurt.

Lake Mary Police say they pulled the woman over for a traffic violation on January 5th. That's when police say the woman said Zimmerman threw the wine bottle.

Police say they talked with Zimmerman on January 9th about the allegations, and arrested him.

At his first appearance, Zimmerman was granted a $5000 bond, told to have no contact with the victim in Volusia County and must surrender all his firearms by Tuesday.

The judge also set his next court appearance for February 17.

Zimmerman was able to post bond and left the jail just after noon, Saturday.

Zimmerman was acquitted by a jury in 2013 for charges stemming from the February 2012 shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford.
