ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A truck slammed into a home in Orlando early Monday morning and the homeowner's son says the driver tried to get away. The incident occurred on Bonneville Drive and Hertha Avenue in Orlando.
Rob Morse, the homeowner's son, says the driver came flying down the road trying to go around the corner, but ended up in his house instead. Fortunately Morse says his mom was not in the house at the time of the accident.
Morse also says that after the crash the driver tried to take off, but Morse wasn't about to let that happen. "He tried to put it in reverse and back up," Morse explained. "Like an idiot i was pushing on the tailgate and then I ran around the driver's side and got the truck shut off and put my truck behind him."
Authorities have arrested Bruce Bonds and have charged him with driving while under the influence.
Morse says his mother's home has been hit by a car several times and he says he hopes the county will install speed bumps or guard rails in an effort to stop it from happening again.
