ORLANDO, Fla (WOFL FOX 35) - Orlando residents spent Wednesday night at a church pushing for an end to youth violence. Orlando Police joined the event to build relationships to solve crimes.
The Stop the Violence Rally comes as police work to find whoever murdered a local youth mentor in Parramore.
Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Institutional Church in Parramore hosted the rally. 24-year-old Gino Nicolas was shot to death Saturday night in a drive by shooting at a Parramore apartment complex.
Nicolas was a mentor with Orlando's "My Brother's Keeper" initiative and locals say his optimism and influence will be missed in Parramore.
Orlando Police Chief John Mina is asking anyone with information to come forward so police can catch the young role model's killer.
