Spirit Airlines expands flights at OIA

Spirit Airlines announced Thursday that it will expand services from Orlando International Airport to 14 new destinations in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America in the Fall.

Starting October 4, the low-fare airline will add service to eight new Latin American countries.

Spirit Airlines flights to Asheville, NC and Greensboro, NC are set to begin September 7 and flights to Myrtle Beach, SC will begin running on November 10.

The company said the new itineraries represent an “unprecedented expansion” for Spirit Airlines at Orlando International Airport.

President Ted Christie said along with the new routes the company will add about 100 new jobs at the airport.
