State Road 429 in Orange County was shut down Thursday morning after a serious accident involving a dump truck versus a car.
Authorities say two people were trapped in the wreckage, but were able to get out and airlifted to local hospitals. According to troopers one patient was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where his condition is listed as stable and alert.
Heavy traffic was prominent in the area of SR 429 and Plant Street most of Thursday morning. The southbound lanes were completely shut down while only 1 lane of the northbound lanes were passing through as of 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning. State Road 429 was completely open later in the afternoon.
