Seminole County leaders have yet to decide if they should purchase bear-proof trash cans.
The specialty made trash cans would cost tax payers millions of dollars.
County leaders met with Florida Fish and Wildlife officials Tuesday to discuss the proposal.
Commissioners are considering spending 4.5 million dollars to buy 25,000 bear-proof trash cans.
Thomas Eason with FWC says the trash cans are necessary.
“Bears are going to keep coming in here and so this is going to be a nonstop issue and we need to figure out how to get people and bears coexisting together," said Eason.
Florida's first planned bear hunt in 20 years is scheduled to happen in just 10 days.
