Seminole County deputies say a crossing guard may have saved a little girl from a suspicious man.
Now deputies are stepping up patrols to look for the suspect.
Seminole County deputies are investigating the suspicious incident that happened near Woodlands Elementary School in Longwood.
Deputies say on Monday afternoon, a crossing guard noticed a man who was not the girl’s father, walking with a 1st grade student.
Officials say as the two got closer, the young girl ran to the crossing guard and hid behind her as if she needed protection
Deputies say the man told the crossing guard he'd never hurt the girl and was then picked up by a four door red car.
Deputies say there was no physical contact between the student and the man but they are investigating and will have extra patrols in the area Thursday.
