Rotting fish pile up along the St. John's River

- Rotting fish are piling up at the water’s edge at a Volusia County park.
 
The fish kill is visible near the boat ramp at Ed Stone Park near Deland, which is along the St. Johns River.
 
“Can’t even stand to breathe hardly out here,” said Donny Young about the smell.
 
“I've never seen anything like this - not around here anyway,” said Brian Register, who came to check it out Sunday.
 
Fox 35 reached out to Florida Fish and Wildlife about the fish kill.

A spokesperson says the agency is aware of the situation and looking into what caused it.
 
Officials in neighboring Seminole County say they’ve been dealing with fish kills around Lake Jesup, caused by post-hurricane flooding.
 
FWC urges anyone to comes across a fish kill to call their hotline.
