Orlando Police Officer released from hospital after crash

An Orlando police officer was sent to the hospital after his patrol car was rear-ended by an alleged drunk driver late Sunday night.   Officials said the crash happened at the intersection of International Drive and Altamira Drive around 11:45 p.m.
Officer Mattheu Torres received medical attention for non-life threatening injuries and was released from the hospital.  Investigators said the driver of the other car, 25-year-old Ebentz L. Joseph, was cited for careless driving and later charged with DUI with property damage and personal injuries.
Authorities said Joseph failed a field sobriety test and his blood alcohol was over the legal limit.  He bonded out of the Orange County Jail on Monday.  He is due back in court at the end of the month.
