Orlando Desert Storm veterans work to turn old Army plane into memorial

The Army's 138th Reserve Aviation Company flew the RU-21 from Orlando to Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm.

That was more than 25 years ago.

Saturday, the Orlando-based reserve unit and the old airplane are out of commision, but  they came together in an effort to preserve the unit's place in history for future generations.

Members of the old 138th tracked down their plane and are working to restore it.

They want to turn it into a memorial.

FOX 35's Tom Johnson takes you on the tarmac for a look at the work.
