Orlando business leaders sleep outside to raise awareness for homeless youth

Orlando business leaders trying to raise awareness for homeless children slept outside a local shelter Monday night.
The “Sleep Out” event happened outside the Covenant House off East Colonial Drive.
Dozens of business leaders and supporters started off with a walk around Lake Eola.
The group’s financial goal for 2015 is $100,000. So far they've raised close to $70,000.
The Covenant House reaches over 200 kids in the Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando area through outreach programs, shelters, and transitional housing programs.
The Ft. Lauderdale branch opened in 1985 and Orlando opened a decade later in 1995 making Covenant House Florida one of the state's largest private agencies providing services to runaway and homeless youth.
Last year they hit their annual goal of $75,000 and this year they are hoping to hit the six figure mark Monday morning.
