MELBOURNE, Fla. - A victim is recovering in the hospital this morning after police say they were shot in a home invasion in Melbourne.
It happened just after 12:30 a.m at an apartment on Circle Avenue.
According to police, two armed suspects confronted four residents inside an apartment, demanding anything of value.
When one of the residents failed to cooperate, one of the suspects fired the gun once hitting the victim in the stomach.
The suspects fled the area in an unknown vehicle, dropping a box that contained synthetic narcotics and paraphernalia.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he underwent surgery. The victim is in stable condition and is expected to recover.
This case is currently under investigation by Melbourne Police Department.
