DELTONA, Fla. - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is investigating a home invasion that happened Tuesday morning in Deltona, sending one victim to a hospital.
Deputies responded to the 7:10 a.m. call at 2423 Penton Court to find the house ransacked. A woman who lives there told deputies two unknown suspects came into her room, beat her and tied her hands and ankles. At one point, she said, the suspects threatened to kill her.
The victim's brother entered the room during the attack and was also beaten, sustaining puncture wounds to his shoulder and scrapes to his neck.
The suspects stole the woman's car and used it to escape, abandoning it about a mile away on a trail off McBride Avenue. Deputies including K-9 units and Air One responded to the area to search for the suspects, but did not locate them.
The injured victim, 16-year-old Christian Jung, was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, where he was listed in stable condition shortly after he was admitted. His sister, 23-year-old Cayla Jung was not injured.
Both suspects were described as tall, thin males wearing black clothes and carrying backpacks. One was a white male, the other black. They were wearing masks.
