New lane shift near Fairbanks curve begins Monday

A New lane shift just opened on Interstate-4 Monday morning.
The westbound lanes of I-4 between Fairbanks Avenue and Princeton Avenue are affected.
It's not a long stretch of the lane shift but if you're not paying attention to the new traffic pattern, it can cause major headaches Monday morning.
The shift starts near Minnesota and Formosa Avenue up to a one-third of a mile.
The I-4 west bound lanes are shifted more west, that way drivers will drive on temporary lanes so crews can eventually work on the eastbound lanes.
They're working on drainage, making the lanes wider, and eventually they'll be straightening out the notorious Fairbanks curve.
Remember construction crews have not condensed any lanes, so drivers are still traveling on the same amount of lanes.
FDOT wants to keep traffic flowing. Drivers will have to get used to these temporary lanes for the next 2 years.
Remember to pack patience and extra time.
