ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Detectives are investigating a triple slaying in an Orlando neighborhood. Police spokeswoman Michelle Guido says three men were killed late Wednesday.
Police officers arriving in the neighborhood south of downtown after receiving a call of shots fired found 34-year-old Clarence Bryant in the road with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Officers found 40-year-old Roderick Smith and 36-year-old Joseph Slade dead inside a home off of the same intersection.
Orlando City Councilwoman Regina Hill came out to the neighborhood to console the victim’s families. She tells FOX 35 this is not indicative of what’s been going on in her district.
“I do want people to know that they are safe. Our police have a plan when it comes to policing in paramour. we’ve increased our bike patrol here in Parramore,” said Hill.
The murders happened within 200 yards of a park and a daycare and just over a half-mile from Orlando City Soccer Club’s new stadium that’s still under construction. Hill says she’s calling on her community to keep up the progress of cleaning up the neighborhood.
“I do want people to know that they are safe. our police have a plan when it comes to policing in Parramore. We’ve increased our bike patrol here in Parramore,” said Commissioner Hill.
She says to completely get rid of crime in Parramore and all over, the community has to step up.
“This also has to be done from a community point where the community is engaged, where the community says 'no more’” said Commissioner Hill.
Orlando Police are looking for the public’s help in finding the suspect. Crimeline is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. Call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
