Mother of victim pleads for justice after hit-and-run crash killed her son

Nearly a month after a hit-and-run crash that killed a 40 year old Orange County man, the investigation continues.

"Every day I think about am I going to talk to him, am I going to see him, I know I'm not going to, and it's hurting because he's missing out of my life," said Eliane Roddy Taylor, the victim’s mother.

Taylor describe the Orange County barber and father of two as a very special person who touched so many

"There's no one that I know that would ever say anything bad about him," Taylor said.

According to Florida Highway Patrol on November 29th, Barnes was riding his bike home from the barbershop where he worked here near the intersection of WD Judge Drive and Ferguson Drive, when he was hit by a car, the driver who hit him just kept going.

"I know accidents happen you know that kind of stuff happen, but to hit him and leave and not say anything that's not easy for me to accept that," Taylor said.

Florida Highway Patrol found maroon ford mustang convertible that hit Barnes, abandoned near the scene of the crash but they still haven't identified the driver, now his mother is making plea to that driver.

"Will you please come forward I would like to have closure I would like to have some peace," Taylor said.

FHP is still investigating; there is a $5,000 Crimeline reward for anyone who has information leading to arrest. You can reach Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
