Melbourne Police involved in standoff with suspect

- Melbourne Police are involved in a standoff in Brevard County after they say a suspect shot a gun in a neighborhood and then barricaded himself in his home. 

The standoff finally came to an end Friday morning after over 10 hours. The incident occurred on Edward Street in Melbourne after starting around 10 p.m. Thursday night. This was near the Palm Bay Magnet High School.

Police say the suspect was driving through the neighborhood shooting a gun into the air and making threats towards neighbors. 

When officers arrived on the scene the suspect was gone. However he later returned and police responded again, but the suspect drove off for a second time. 

For a third time the suspect returned to the neighborhood and went back inside his house before the standoff eventually came to an end. Fortunately no one was harmed.
