A man convicted of attempted murder for shooting an Orlando Police officer is now waiting to find out if he will spend the rest of his life in prison.
25-year-old Demetrius Patterson was found guilty of shooting Officer Jason Hajek two years ago.
Officials say Patterson shot Officer Hajek at least three times as Hajek was running after him.
The defense tried to argue that Patterson was in fear of his life and trying to escape but the jury didn't buy it.
Officer Hajek ultimately returned to work but the Orlando Sentinel reports that because of continued health issues he will leave the department later this year.
