Man arrested for firing weapon at home

- An Oviedo man was arrested for firing a weapon into a home, according to deputies.

Seminole County Sheriff's Office was called to a home August 3 for a report of bullets being fired through a woman's back door on Shadow Creek Circle in unincorporated Oviedo.

Upon arrival deputies found the victim's sliding glass door completely shattered.

Deputies later located the suspect, 21-year-old Liam Portway, at his parent's house. Portway lives directly behind the victim's home.

Deputies located three weapons inside the suspect's home, including a rifle.

"The projectile that went through the victim's sliding glass door appeared to be the size fired from a similar weapon," said a spokesperson form Seminole County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say fresh bullet holes were also located in a fence separating the two residences. Throughout the investigation it shows they were fired from the back of Portway's resident in the direction of the victim's home.

Portway was booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility for charges of firing a weapon into a house, criminal mischief, and firing a weapon under the influence of alcohol.
