Man accused of shooting, killing his own mother

Orange County deputies say a Windermere man is accused of shooting and killing his own mother.

Deputies say Wueizman Leal shot his mother, Tania Perez Creek, several times.

Orange County Deputy Ingrid Tejada-Monforte said, "They were having a verbal argument that escalated. The victim was the one what called 911. Upon deputies' arrival, they heard the gunshot and went to safety, and asked for more backup before entering the house."

Investigator say after he shot his mother, Leal tried to escape out the back door, running straight into a deputy.

"The suspect is secure and being interviewed by detectives," Tejada-Monforte said.

On Saturday morning, deputies were still out in the Summer Port neighborhood.

Neighbor Chip Fernandez said he’d never seen anything like it.

"It's crazy, we had just put our kids down to bed and saw lights flickering," he said. "I walked out my front door and see hundreds of police cars, ambulances, fire trucks... It was really nuts!”

Deputies said Leal's stepfather was also in the house and saw the shooting.

Leal is charged with first-degree murder. He made his first appearance in court on Sunday morning.
