A Brevard County man accused of shooting a deputy bonded out of jail overnight.
John Derossett posted a $450,000 bond and was released this morning and greeted by family members. He left wearing an ankle monitor.
Back in August, deputies tried to arrest his niece for prostitution at his home in Port St. John. He said he heard her screaming for help but didn't know that the men involved were undercover agents and shot at them.
John Derossett claims he is not guilty and believes he will be exonerated. They are looking at several different options, including Florida's Stand Your Ground law.
