ORLANDO, Fla (WOFL FOX 35) - The University of Central Florida will receive tax dollars to help build its downtown campus. On Tuesday Governor Rick Scott approved 20 million dollars in state funding for the project when he approved the state budget.
UCF's Provost Dr. A. Dale Whittaker says the new campus will make a big impact on the city of Orlando. UCF is also gathering 16 million dollars in donations and putting in 20 million dollars out of pocket for the project.
The campus is scheduled to open in 2017.
