CHRISTMAS, Fla. -- It’s not often that a Central Florida animal park goes up for sale, but you could be the proud owner of your very own tourist attraction.
It feels like you’re in the jungle, but this adventure is a short drive east of Orlando. The Jungle Adventures animal park has been open forty years on State Road 50, west of Titusville.
Kobi Keagan has owned the 10.5 acre park for thirty years, and now he’s ready to retire. He hopes to find the perfect buyer to keep this place swimming along.
Keagan says, “I’m really excited for a new buyer to be able to expand, continue, show some passion for what we do to preserve the real Florida.”
Keagan says this place he loves offers visitors a chance to watch huge gators chomp down a daily meal. There are swampy boat rides, offering a glimpse into the days when Spanish soldiers and Native Americans roamed the land. There’s also a chance to see Florida’s native animals up close.
The asking price for Jungle Adventures is $2.2 million. For that price, you get the gators, bears, panthers and other animals. You also get the green duckweed on the water’s surface, the equipment and the workers here too.
Keagan adds, “The employees would love to continue. They love what they do.”
It’s not every day you see a local tourist attraction go up for sale. Ali Mushtaq is working to sell it. He says it’s been on the market less than a week. Fox 35's Keith Landry asked Mushtaq who is the likely buyer for this unique property?
He said, “I think it might be an acquisition with another small theme park operator or a foreign investor- someone who is coming from overseas.”
Keagan says generations of families have visited the park to see Florida’s most impressive animals. As he moves toward retirement, Keagan knows he will miss the work he has done here for decades.
He concedes, “It’s really hard. I really enjoy it, and i do enjoy it even now.”
